iPhoto speed.

Let me start off by saying that I like iPhoto and consider it one of the best digital photo management applications, second only to Google’s Picasa. There has always been one problem with iPhoto since its inception, and that is its interface speed. Even with the 6.x version which Steve Jobs claimed to “scroll like butter”, its speed doing these tasks is bad. Even on the newer Intel hardware. If you have access to a PC, load Picasa on it and see how much faster the interface feels to you. Do the same sort of things in iPhoto, and it seems to crawl. I’m thinking it probably has something to do with the Cocoa toolkit as many Cocoa apps seem to also be affected too. I’m hoping that 10.5 will fix these sort of issues.
